Katie Adams Farrell is the principal and founder of KAF Catalyst. 

Katie is a growth specialist. Her ideas about entrepreneurial fundraising, relationship building with heart and the power of big dreams and pointed goals have led her to success in ventures in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. Katie has wealth of knowledge about not-profit fundraising and functionality. She has led fundraising teams at institutions small and large including the Museum of Latin American Art, Aquarium of the Pacific and Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Specializing in grant writing, government advocacy and corporate sponsorship, Katie raised more than $50 million during her career as a development professional. Her specific expertise in building corporate sponsorship programs has led to consultation with important institutions across the nation. Katie and her husband Matt Farrell have a financial planning practice where Katie specializes in financial management solutions for non-profit organizations and estate planning for individuals and families. KAF Catalyst is Katie’s dream realized. And it is one-of-a-kind. 

Katie serves on several Boards of Directors including the Women’s Journey Foundation and National Association of Women Business Owners, Orange County Chapter. She is the Co-Chair and Co-Founder of the Professional Advisors Council at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and an active Platinum Member of the Orange County Diversity Council. She and her family support causes locally including the Live for Others Foundation, Jasper Ray Foundation and Discovery Cube. Katie is a registered financial advisor with FINRA, she is pursuing her Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy certification, and holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Music Performance (violin and viola) from California State University, Long Beach. 

Katie and Matt have three children, Devin, Caiden and Madelyn and a little funny-looking dog named Penny. They live in Irvine where they enjoy the diversity of their neighborhood and the incredible parks system. They spend weekends on the soccer field, at the pool, and exploring the Sequoia National Forest at their family’s mountain retreat. Katie loves reading, writing, podcasts, Peet’s coffee, reality television, meditation and posting pictures of her kids on Instagram. She also makes a mean rack of ribs.
