The Mentoring Program is one of the most valuable benefits offered by NAWBO-OC. In fact, some members initially join NAWBO just for the privilege of participating in this program. Registration is open now, but not for long. The deadline to apply for the program as a mentee is February 15th. Why is this so significant? Because if you don’t enroll now, another whole year will go by before you can take advantage of this opportunity for yourself and for your business!

Don’t let the chance to work one-on-one with a specially matched mentor slip away. It’s an invaluable experience and resource. “The funny thing is that I was really hesitant to apply for the program,” said Susan Shieldkret, owner of The Passionate Collector. “And (I) almost didn’t do it-and it’s turned out to be one of the most significant experiences in my life.”

The program is designed to help businesswomen maximize success. They gain industry insight, discover new opportunities, and learn what it takes to create a thriving business in today’s economy. “Thanks to the assistance of my mentor…we have doubled in revenue what we did last year and continue to grow. My mentor has truly given me the tools to grow my business and make me accountable!” recalls Diana Perna, owner of PK Real Estate & Investments, commenting on her experience as a NAWBO-OC mentee.

Building a business is never easy, and the more tools available to help you with your success the better. NAWBO-OC’s mentor program is one of those tools. Heidi Lopez, owner of Lifeline of Southern California, explains that “If someone is seeking a solid plan of action and direction, this program is the one for you. My mentor has taught me discipline and commitment which has exceeded my expectations.”

Mentors can also have a big impact on a mentee’s personal life. Mary Neil, owner of Caliber Signs & Imaging, recalls her experience as a mentee. “Beyond business success I have gained a personal peace of mind and balance in my life. As my journey continued, someone significant came into my life. Thank you to NAWBO-OC’S Mentoring Program for making this program great.”

“I highly suggest you check it out,” advises Trina Fleming, VP of Marketing and Communications for WHW. She has been both a mentee and mentor in the program. “Most successful entrepreneurs credit the mentors from whom they soaked up wisdom. Because mentoring is so effective, 71% of Fortune 500 companies have formal mentoring programs. If you are looking to the New Year to bring greater success … consider participating in NAWBO-OC’s Mentoring Program and taking advantage of everything it offers. You will not be disappointed!”
