We are accepting applications for NAWBO SUCCESS
TEAM FACILITATORS through July 27, 2007.
Take advantage of this opportunity to showcase
your facilitation skills while bonding with a team of amazing women
who want to take their businesses to the next level. The deadline to
receive all application materials is Friday, July 27th!
What you need to know:
- We are looking for facilitators who:
- Have great "meeting management skills"
- Can build a safe environment of respectful communication in a diverse
group
- Have a good mix of coaching / training / counseling and business
/ corporate experience
- Part of the application process includes a "mock
facilitation exercise" where you will be video taped for approximately
15 minutes as you facilitate a group of fellow NAWBO members. A committee
will review
the tapes as part of our selection process, insuring that we have a
good mix of facilitator styles and can best meet the needs of our members.
The Mock will be held on Wednesday, August 8th at 9:00am, and this
event
is a requirement for all applicants.
- If selected, you will be paid for
your services with a stipend that is pre-determined by the board.
- If
selected, you will be trained to facilitate using a basic format
that is consistent across all NAWBO teams. You will be required to
facilitate
using this format. We do allow some room for flexibility and style
differences, but to maintain integrity in the program, we need all
teams to run in
a consistent manner. The training will be in September, in preparation
for our October success teams.
- As a facilitator you will NOT be able
to solicit or accept business from anyone on your team during the
six months you are working with them.
- The NAWBO success teams run for six months.
During the six months you will run twelve meetings: six of these
meetings
are held "in-person" once
per month for approximately 3 hours; the other six meetings are held
via teleconference for approximately 90 minutes. The calls serve the
valuable purpose of providing continuity between monthly in person meetings.
If you are chosen to facilitate a team, you will be responsible for participating
in the orientation for that team, and running all twelve of your team
meetings.
Having been a success team facilitator myself, I can tell you that it
was the most fulfilling experience I have had at NAWBO from the point
of view of connecting and developing meaningful relationships with other
women business owners. The conversations we had went well beyond the
scope of what gets talked about at the mixers, and I believe the exposure
provided me with a more solid professional reputation within NAWBO, along
with additional referral business.
