Farmers & Merchants Bank celebrated 12 Orange County women at the third annual Women of Courage breakfast on Thursday, October 20 at Zov’s Bistro Café in Tustin. F&M’s Women of Courage program has grown from the Bank’s continued involvement NAWBO-OC Remarkable Women event for the past eight years. The F&M Women of Courage event celebrates women who have displayed courage, tenacity and wisdom to make a lasting difference in both their business and community. Two NAWBO-OC members were honored.

Nanci Masada-Okawa, is with Arbonne International where she has reached the level of District Manager. Nanci serves on the board of NAWBO-OC, volunteers at several non-profit organizations and she and her husband work with expectant parents of Triplets at Saddleback hospital, yes because they have 8 year old TRIPLETS. Now Nanci takes being involved to a whole new level!!

Trina Fleming, WHW (Women Helping Women/Men2Work) in addition to her work at WHW, Trina gives so selflessly of herself to a number of Non-Profit organizations, including her board service and contribution to NAWBO-OC, Girls Inc., Women for Girls, EWGA, WHW and so many others. Trina was our NAWBO-OC member of the year last year.

Lori Lee Yamato, Partner at Knobbe Martens was included in Intellectual Asset Management’s publication of 2011 IAM Licensing 250 – The World’s Leading Patent and Technology Licensing Practitioners. This is a publication of the top 250 patent licensing lawyers worldwide. Lori was specifically recognized for her expertise in the prosecution and enforcement of patents, trademarks and copyrights, with a focus on licensing as a substantial component of her practices.

Lynne Houri, Partner at White Nelson is pleased to announce that they have just completed a merger with Diehl Evans another CPA firm. With 75 individuals from White Nelson and 40 from Diehl Evans the resulting firm (White Nelson Diehl Evans LLP) will be well over 100 strong. This merger provides their firm the ability to diversify service lines and have added two locations in northern San Diego County.

Barbara Hogan Insurance Services, Inc. is pleased to announce that she is now an SCorp, and has moved into a new office 3xs the size of her previous one. Barbara’s business is five years old and still growing. She specializes in Medicare and long term insurance

WHW (Women Helping Women/Men2Work) just received notification from the Orange County Transportation Authority that they have been awarded a grant under their Job Access and Reverse Commute Program in the amount of $97,311 for WHW’s Mobility Outreach Program! The Mobility Outreach Program will allow WHW to provide transportation vouchers for low-income jobseekers who face transportation as one of their primary barriers to receiving employment support services and to getting to and from interviews. This grant will allow WHW to increase the accessibility of their services and more importantly give more disadvantaged job seekers in Orange County the critical assistance that they need.

Susan Bock will be a keynote speaker at the International Coaching Federation live local event in Orange County on February 7, 2012. Susan will speak on “Become the CEO of Your Life” locally. Additionally she will be a virtual presenter on the same topic, which will be broadcast to a wider audience.

Dr. Maryalyce Jeremiah, Founder, Director of Your High Places is a brand new member to NAWBO-OC. As a motivational speaker and coach, the former Head Women’s Basketball Coach CSU, Fullerton recently spoke to over 600 employees of the Heritage Co. in Little Rock Arkansas. This company does telemarketing for non-profits such as the Special Olympics and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
