Topic: If I Can't See 'Em, How Can I Lead 'Em: Managing Team Communication in a Remote Environment
Instructor: Susan Gerke, Gerke Consulting & Development L.L.C.
Description: This course deals with the challenges of managing employees who work in remote locations and is designed to give you tools for effective leadership. The interactive session will answer questions such as: How do you know what the remote employee is doing? How often should you communicate, and is your message clear? How do you factor in different personalities, styles of thinking, and work habits? Through exercises and discussion, you will be given specific strategies for building trust, facilitating productive conference calls, and connecting more effectively with people working off-site. You will learn how leading remotely is different from leading people working together in the same facility, and will gain techniques for building relationships with employees, conducting remote meetings, and enhancing communication.
