Upcoming

Classes
will take place at Sunwest
Bank, 17542 East 17th St, #200, Tustin, CA. MAP
How to Finance
Your Growing Business (February
28, 2008, 5-8pm) This course will introduce the concept
and components of financial vehicles and sources of capital.
Attendees will learn how to navigate through the complexities
of venture financing while managing the requirements
of potential investors and lenders. How to plan
a strategy for getting money—figure out how much
you need, what it will be used for and
how quickly you need it; the financial sources available
whether from friends and family, government agencies
or investors. Upon completion of this course, attendees
will have a basic understanding of the types and sources
of financing available for small business, and how
to access such
vehicles. Attendees should have a good
understanding of financial statements. Dare
to Delegate: Stop Doing and Start Leading (April
22, 2008, 5-8pm) by Joan Friedlander, Lifework Business Partners.
Building a dynamic team is clearly among the best ways to
build a
successful
business. For many business owners, this is easier said than
done. Fearing
loss of control, extra work and the added expense, many wait
longer than
they should to get started. Any time you are complaining about
being
overworked or stressed out, poor resource allocation and time
management are
often the culprits. By hanging onto tasks, people and projects
that no
longer fit, you hinder your ability to grow.
MENTORING
The 2008 Mentoring applications are closed and
we have 40 women enrolled. Matching will be done in February
and the Kick-off/Training event for those involved will be
held March 7th at the Summit House Restaurant.
Congratulations to all mentees who have applied, and thanks
to all the wonderful mentors that have volunteered to help
another women business owner on her journey of discovery. For
questions, please contact Dee
Elliott, Mentoring Founder/Director at 714-813-7190.
