KUDOS
Cherie Miranda, President of CM Home Financial, has earned the Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS) Designation, granted by the CMPS Institute-a training and certifying organization created to enable mortgage professionals to offer their clients strategies that encompass mortgages, debt, home equity and real estate investment. Congrats Cherie!

Twenty NAWBO-OC members were among the many outstanding women nominated for the 2006 Women in Business Awards sponsored by the Orange County Business Journal. Winners will be announced at the May 25th WIB luncheon. NAWBO-OC nominees include: Sondra Ames, Jacquin Anastasio, Sharrell Jackson Blackwell, Zeena Dhalla, Holli Dorr, Kimberly Gerber, Susan Hansted-Kuntz, Camille Jayne, Jodi Jones, Zov Karamardian, Hilary Kaye, Aggie Kobrin, Bethany L. LaFlam, Lorena Maae, Renee Pepys Lowe, Barbara Page, Sue Parks, Emma Tiebens, Kathleen Torres and Lynda Zadra-Symes. Congratulations to all!

The 2006 43rd Annual Small Business Awards, sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration, included three NAWBO-OC women amongst the Santa Ana District Office winners. Rochelle Schneider was named Women in Business Champion of the Year, Mary Gilmore (along with Tom Gilmore) was named Veteran Small Business Champion, and Lorena Maae was named Minority Small Business Champion. The award ceremony was held April 18th in Anaheim. Kudos to these outstanding women!

Shaila Mistry, NAWBO-OC's Public Policy VP and president of Jayco Interface Technology, was recently featured in The Business Forum Journal. Shaila provided an overview of the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) sponsored by the United Nations, in Geneva, Switzerland 2003 - Tunis, Tunisia 2005. CLICK HERE for article.

Jodi Jones, NAWBO-OC member and owner of Vitality Gourmet, was featured in the Saddleback Valley News on April 21 in an article focused on the organic meals from her company. The article included a great photo of Jodi and her meals.

NAWBO-OC member Teena Lutes of Benchmark Mortgage was featured on KCAL-TV earlier this year, with information on the company's Home Loan Accelerator product. The news clip can be viewed at the website www.homeloanaccelerator.com.

SUCCESS Teams starting soon! NAWBO-OC is extending our educational and developmental programs by offering SUCCESS Teams to complement our mentoring and business training curriculum. Unlike other programs of this type, we offer this program to members without restriction on company earnings, at a fraction the price of other programs... see details.
