OUR BOARD MEMBERS
Helane
Cohen has been the chair of NAWBO-OC's Hospitality
Committee
since March 2005. She is owner of Le Petit Cookery, Inc., d.b.a.
KidsAprons.com,
which offers a wonderful selection of aprons, chef hats, baking
kits, party favors and much
more,
"Just for Little Chefs!" The Hospitality Committee is responsible
for helping new and
prospective members feel comfortable when attending
NAWBO meetings. Committee members
talk to guests about the benefits of NAWBO and
make sure they get any questions
answered. They also help new members get integrated into the
NAWBO organization. The Hospitality Committee is looking
for volunteers to
help with greeting guests at
meetings and assisting new members when
they arrive at an event.
KUDOS
Penny Lambright, of
Clutter Cleaners, was nominated, along with 29 other businesses,
for
the 18th
Annual Holiday Spirit Award

Congrats Penny!
MEMBERS IN THE
NEWS
Camille
Jayne, founder and president of Matters
at Hand and president-elect of NAWBO-OC, was
featured in the most recent issue of Professional
Woman's Magazine. The article described
how important it is for professional women
to get
their personal affairs in order—for them,
as well as for their parents, in many cases—but
they often lack the time and knowledge to do
so. Camille's company was profiled as
an excellent way to achieve this—both for
those who are planning ahead and for those
undergoing life's transitions such as divorce,
death or illness.
Helane
Cohen, founder and president of
Le Petit Cookery, Inc., d.b.a. KidsAprons.com,
and chair of NAWBO-OC's Hospitality
Committee, was also featured in the
most recent issue of Professional Woman's
Magazine. The article talks about how
Helane started a business around her passion,
which
is cooking and kids, and what advice she
had for other women who want to start and
run
a business.
Diana
Zanzonico, owner of V2K Window
Fashions and NAWBO-OC member, was featured
in the
ShopTalk section of the OC Register's Business
Monday on January 9. The profile described
Diana's
franchise business, which involves working
with busy homeowners who need advice and
implementation on everything from "simple to spectacular" window
treatments, including draperies, shutters
and blinds.
Hilary
Kaye, president of HKA, Inc. and
NAWBO-OC's Director of Public Relations,
was included
in the January 9 issue of the OC Business
Journal.
The "Media & Marketing" column
included quotes from Hilary on her perspective
of both the past year and how the 2006 business
year is unfolding. Her prognosis? HKA is already
in "high gear" and climbing.
Longtime
member and past president of NAWBO-OC, Susan
Johnson, owner of Susan's Healthy
Gourmet, talked about eating healthy on
an NBC show in San Diego called "New Year,
New You." She also spoke on an “Eating
Healthy, Eating Easy” panel moderated
by Cathy Thomas of the OC Register at
the WomanSage Health & Fitness Conference
on January 14. MEMBER NEWS
