Our
very own Zeena Dhalla, owner
of The Athletic Club for Women in Newport Beach, was featured
on the cover of the Sept. 15 issue of OC Metro! A
very buff-looking Zeena was the "covergirl" for the
cover story: "The
Female Body: Rules for turning a busy lifestyle into a healthy

October 19, 2005, Anandia Pearls, owned by new NAWBO member, Erica
Lim, is
opening their boutique at 377 E. Coast Hwy. in Newport Beach.

pearls...luxury pieces without the exceptional prices."
The
Chocolate Angel, Inc., owned by NAWBO-OC member Linda
Hoitt, recently acquired Bonnie's
Bouquets, a gourmet cookie and gift basket company located
at 2201 E. Winston Rd., Ste. E in Anaheim, CA. The Chocolate
Angel's product line will now include specialty chocolates,
a variety of freshly baked cookies, cookie bouquets, and gourmet
gift baskets.

MEET OUR BOARD
MEMBERS
Cathy
Daugherty, the current
President of NAWBO-OC, has served on our board for seven
years. She is co-owner of Trademark Insurance, specializing
in employee benefits and employer health insurance plans. Trademark
has been in business over 25 years, and serves a diverse group
of companies around Southern California,
typically with 20-120
employees. Cathy
is an expert in Cobra, Section 125, medical,
dental, vision, and life insurance
for
groups. She handles
analysis of current coverages, evaluation of possible
plans, enrollment of employees, and maintenance of plans
throughout the year. As president of NAWBO-OC Cathy oversees
our Board of Directors and runs our monthly dinner meetings.
She also attends many committee meetings, and is a strong promoter
of the chapter at community events throughout the county. There
are a few positions still open on the 2005-06 NAWBO-OC board,
and
many
committees
are looking for volunteers as well as replacements for board
members who may not continue in their position next year.

Mona
Lisa Ferris and Cathy Daugherty were
invited to chat about our October 14th Remarkable Women
Luncheon with Ed Arnold and Ann Pulice on KOCE-TV's Real
Orange.
Ann was our MC last year and is excited about attending
again this year. They recognized this as the 10th Anniversary
of our Remarkable Women Awards Luncheon, and the fabulous
growth of NAWBO-OC. The segment aired twice on October 4.

Hospitality: Starting
in November, NAWBO members who attend the monthly dinner
meeting will have an opportunity to win a member showcase
table ($75 value). To enter,
just drop your business card or sign-up form in the raffle
box at the registration table. At the end of the evening
a winner will be chosen.
Programs: The
Program Committee is looking for a few good women to serve
on this
important committee! Our current needs include someone
to oversee our Showcase
participants
at the monthly meetings, and someone to organize the monthly
Opportunity Drawings. This a terrific way to have input
on the topics of our meetings, as well as meet and interact
