NEW BOARD MEMBER
Markell
Steele joined the NAWBO-OC board of directors
this month as Affiliates/Diversity Chair. This committee's
task is to find ways to reach a more diverse business community
by developing synergy between NAWBO-OC and other local
organizations that share common goals and values.
Markell owns Futures in Motion
Career Services, a full-service career management firm that
helps people develop the tools to effectively
mange their careers and safeguard
their lifestyles
from changes in the economy and work world.

One of NAWBO-OC's newest corporate partners, The Image Center,
was featured Dec. 27 in a Jan Norman "It's Your Business" article
in the OC Register. Dr. Kathryn Ahn,
a cosmetic dentist, and her husband, Dr. Peter Newen, a plastic
surgeon, discussed their 2005 focus on marketing and customer
service for their Huntington Beach-based The Image Center.
Included are multiple medical specialties, outpatient surgery
and a day spa.

Stone,
Volunteer Center Orange County President and CEO, was the
subject of a feature story entitled "Helping
the Helpers" in the December, 2004 issue of Orange
Coast Magazine.
Suzanne
Perga of Cre8ive Products
was featured in an article in the Paragould
Daily Press about
traveling long distances to adopt a shelter pet. Suzanne flew
to Arkansas to get her new dog, Tassie. Isn't she a doll!

INTERNATIONAL NEWS
NAWBO's International Committee is compiling
a list of international conferences. The committee will have
a delegation attend the 15th Global Summit of Women
2005, "Leading the 21st Century Economy", in Mexico City on June
23-25. Details about the conference are available at www.globewomen.com where

the Orange County Small Business Development Center. Get
