MENTORING PROGRAM SCHEDULE OF EVENTS – 2013 Program

NAWBO-OC offers members the opportunity to participate in an nine-month Mentoring Program.  This is a high-commitment program designed to enable participants to achieve a high-degree of success.  Below is the schedule of events. All events except S.O.M.E. Meetings are mandatory for Mentees.  Items highlighted in red are required for Mentors.

  1. Nov 15th: Applications open on website
  2. Feb 1st: Application process closed for Mentees
  3. Feb 17th: Mentees/Mentors contacted if they have been selected to participate in the  Mentoring Program
  4. Mar 8th: Mentoring Program Orientation. 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Summit House in Fullerton
    1. ALL Mentees must attend the full program
    2. NEW Mentors must attend the full program
    3. Returning Mentors may attend the full program and are required to attend the program from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  5. May 9th: Mentor Only Meeting. 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Mentors meet to enjoy dinner and discuss challenges and best practices in mentoring.
  6. July 18th: Mid-Year Workshop. 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Mentors and Mentees get together to enjoy dinner, network and receive practical education regarding common problems being experienced by mentees.
  7. S.O.M.E. Meetings: Sessions Organized for Mentoring Education.  These sessions are open to both mentors and mentees. They are held from 4:00 – 5:30 prior to the regular NAWBO meetings in the following months:

  8. Nov 7th: Year-End Celebration. 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  This celebratory event wraps up our mentoring year by highlighting the achievements of our mentees and honoring the contributions of our mentors.
  9. Monthly: Individual mentoring pairs meet/conference a minimum of 2-3 hours each month between March and November.
