MENTORING PROGRAM SCHEDULE OF EVENTS – 2013 Program
NAWBO-OC offers members the opportunity to participate in an nine-month Mentoring Program. This is a high-commitment program designed to enable participants to achieve a high-degree of success. Below is the schedule of events. All events except S.O.M.E. Meetings are mandatory for Mentees. Items highlighted in red are required for Mentors.
- Nov 15th: Applications open on website
- Feb 1st: Application process closed for Mentees
- Feb 17th: Mentees/Mentors contacted if they have been selected to participate in the Mentoring Program
- Mar 8th: Mentoring Program Orientation. 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Summit House in Fullerton
- ALL Mentees must attend the full program
- NEW Mentors must attend the full program
- Returning Mentors may attend the full program and are required to attend the program from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- May 9th: Mentor Only Meeting. 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Mentors meet to enjoy dinner and discuss challenges and best practices in mentoring.
- July 18th: Mid-Year Workshop. 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Mentors and Mentees get together to enjoy dinner, network and receive practical education regarding common problems being experienced by mentees.
- S.O.M.E. Meetings: Sessions Organized for Mentoring Education. These sessions are open to both mentors and mentees. They are held from 4:00 – 5:30 prior to the regular NAWBO meetings in the following months:

- Nov 7th: Year-End Celebration. 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This celebratory event wraps up our mentoring year by highlighting the achievements of our mentees and honoring the contributions of our mentors.
- Monthly: Individual mentoring pairs meet/conference a minimum of 2-3 hours each month between March and November.
