Affiliates
Identifies and creates relationships with other local (501c3 and 501c6) organizations which support women and business efforts.
Affiliates committee members have a heart for helping others, are outgoing, love to meet new people, are great networkers, professional and can multi-task. Role includes creating direct lines of communication with affiliate organizations, attending affiliate events and coordinating event information on respective websites with assigned affiliate organizations.
Corporate Partners
Targets and solicits corporations to sponsor NAWBO-OC chapter and programs and acts as liaison between NAWBO-OC and corporate partner by serving as a relationship manager.
Marketing /Public Relations and Business and Community Development
Oversees chapter marketing, branding and communications, attends and hosts display tables at conferences, expos and tradeshows and responsible for building the NAWBO-OC brand and generating positive media attention for the chapter; highlighting members whenever possible. Programs include Business and Community Development which plans and executes social and fundraising events for NAWBO-OC’s members and the OC community to create more exposure for the organization.
Committee members love to generate exposure through marketing and branding initiatives, enjoy working in a creative environment, have a passion for marketing, are creative thinkers and are very comfortable with being a team player.
Member Services
Develops and executes programs and services that enhance the NAWBO-OC membership experience and ensures that members are connected and engaged. Programs include: New and Potential Member Orientations, Member Only Mixers, Power Partners Program, New Member Breakfasts, Ambassadors, Service and Tenure Awards and Social Media.
Committee members love to meet new people, have a heart for making people feel welcomed, are great networkers, like to laugh, are good at leading conversations, are creative thinkers and comfortable with taking a lead role.
Professional Development
Responsible for the coordination and promotion of the Education Classes, Success Teams, Power Partner Program and Mentoring Program.
Mentoring is dedicated to enriching the lives of the fellow NAWBO-OC business owners. Our group is comprised of tenured NAWBO-OC members, many of whom have participated in the Mentoring program as either a mentor or mentee – or both! The committee meets several times each year for planning and hosting learning and development events for the Mentor and Mentee groups.
Power Partners are Pods of women matched to make a Networking group who they can refer to successfully. Committee members report to the Chair and help facilitate these groups, administer them and get them set up. They meet several times a year.
Education is responsible for arranging speakers to speak once a month at classes that last 3 hours. Committee members would assist the Chair in administering the classes, correspondence and manning the table at NAWBO meetings. They meet a couple times a year.
SUCCESS Teams are small groups of peers who assist each other with business issues, facilitated by a Professional Facilitator. It goes for 6 months and the committee members do the set up and administration of the groups.
Programs
Develops the monthly meeting program line-up and coordinates all of the meeting activities including selection of speakers, showcase tables and opportunity drawings.
Committee members are passionate about enhancing every NAWBO-OC member’s ability to succeed through quality speakers, thoughtful networking, and good food. We are detail oriented, compulsive about excellence, and love to laugh. We always need additional committee members of like ilk!
Public Policy
Partners with regional, national and international organizations to magnify our voice and impact policy decisions on behalf of WBO’s everywhere.
RWA – Remarkable Women Awards
Plans, orchestrates and executes all aspects of the Remarkable Women Awards event held in October.
Technology
Works with NAWBO-OC leadership on a local and national level to improve the technology infrastructure. Supports organizational and marketing initiatives via website, e-campaigns and online asset archiving.
Technology committee members receive excellent exposure to the general membership due to the highly visible nature of our responsibilities and projects. Members are skilled with experience in any of the following disciplines: WordPress programming, HTML programming, website design, general design, project management and website content development. If you have any of these skills and are looking to really make a difference, this is the committee for you! Print designers seeking to expand into website, interactive and/or e-campaign design are encouraged to speak with the Technology Director.
WBO – Women Business Owners Outreach
Targets and solicits Women Business Owners $2MM and above to get engaged with NAWBO-OC and support our mission and share our vision.
Committee members have a business that wants to do business with another business in Orange County over $1MM. Committee members are Passionate about Women Business Owners, Interested in Business, Helpful, great networkers, have stellar communication skills, outgoing, professional, articulate and great researchers.
