The purpose of the Business Development Committee is to help all members and Corporate Partners build business together. This will occur by creating a mindset of Business Exchange, reinforced by actions. We will collaborate with other committees to help generate awareness of each other’s businesses at the multitude of existing events. Activities include: General Membership Meeting, development of ideas to publicize members’ businesses more often and the recognition of members who do business together. Ultimately, their goal is for each member and Corporate Partner to quantify the business they’ve generated from their membership and “know their NAWBO-OC Number!”
Committee members have a heart for business development (sales), enjoy working with a variety of committees, offer creative ideas for recognition, and are able to organize and multi-task.
Community Relations programs include Community Outreach, Public Policy, California Liaison and Affiliates.
Committee members have a heart for helping women business owners, are outgoing, love to meet new people, are great networkers, professional and can multi-task.
The Corporate Partners Committee develops and maintains relationships with local businesses that see value in connecting with women entrepreneurs. The Corporate Partners serve the critical function of supporting NAWBO-OC’s educational, networking and mentoring programs.
Committee members are uniquely positioned to develop corporate contacts in the business community that will enhance their own business enterprises.
The Marketing/Public Relations Committee oversees chapter marketing, branding and communications, attends and hosts display tables at conferences, expos and tradeshows and responsible for building the NAWBO-OC brand and generating positive media attention for the chapter; highlighting members whenever possible. Also works with NAWBO-OC leadership on a local and national level to improve the technology infrastructure. Supports organizational and marketing initiatives via website, e-campaigns and online asset archiving.
Committee members love to generate exposure through marketing and branding initiatives, enjoy working in a creative environment, have a passion for marketing, are creative thinkers and are very comfortable with being a team player.
Member Services develops and executes programs and services that enhance the NAWBO-OC membership experience and ensures that members are connected and engaged. Programs include: New and Potential Member Orientations, Member Only Mixers, New Member Events, Ambassadors, Service and Tenure Awards and Social Media.

Professional Development oversees the coordination and promotion of the Mentoring Program, the Education Workshops, Success Teams and Power.
Mentoring is dedicated to enriching the lives of fellow NAWBO-OC members. Our group is comprised of tenured NAWBO-OC members, and OC Business women, who have a proven success. The success of this program is based on a unique matching process that pairs Mentors and Mentees who have similar values. The committee meets several times each year for planning and hosting learning and development events for the Mentoring group.
Power Partners are Pods of women matched to make a Networking group who they can refer to successfully. Committee members report to the Associate Director and help facilitate these groups, administer them and get them set up. They meet several times a year.
Education is responsible for arranging speakers to speak once a month at classes that last 3 hours. Committee members would assist the Chair in administering the classes, correspondence and manning the table at NAWBO meetings. They meet a couple times a year.
SUCCESS Teams are small groups of peers who assist each other with business issues, facilitated by a Professional Facilitator. It goes for 6 months and the committee members do the set up and administration of the groups.
The Programs Committee develops the monthly Dinner Meeting program line-up and coordinates all of the meeting activities including selection of speakers, showcase tables and opportunity drawings.
Committee members are passionate about enhancing every NAWBO-OC member’s ability to succeed through quality speakers, thoughtful networking, and good food. We are detail oriented, compulsive about excellence, and love to laugh. We always need additional committee members of like ilk!
Remarkable Women Awards
The RW Committee plans, orchestrates and executes all aspects of our signature event, the Remarkable Women Awards held in October. The committee is responsible for working with the honorees, planning the details of the evening, marketing the event, generating revenue, working with vendors and hosting the evening event.
They are always looking for committee members who are interested in event planning, marketing or sales.
